Looks like a dusty parking lot? Is that where you plan on camping? Is that where you plan on unloading trailers??? |

home from the field and am I tired I think because of the heat of the day and the fun of the night run.
We had about 15 rigs and about 40 people for the run. folks started showing up for the bbq at about 4pm of which Jim brought his grill and all the items necessary for set up tables pop-ups ect ect ect
we started the trail around 8:30 pm going over the steep hill and then the fun began as the group snaked its way down toward the reservoir it would get separated into 2 or 3 groups and then regroup only to separate again due to the darkness and the twists and foliage of this trail
at about 3/4 down the trail the group I was with stopped at the big open area to regroup and count heads only to relies that Brett and family were missing and that 4 rigs were far ahead. it was decided that we would separate and head down to the reservoir to join up with the lead group while the other would turn back and look for our missing in action.
as my group tried to find the route East to the leaders they returned and rejoined us with tells of mud and wonder.
we then headed back up the trail looking for Brett and the group who returned for him. after finding them found out his rig devolped a carb problem for which Kevin donated a regulator to get him off the trail and back to camp. with one small detour up the wrong trail we made it back to the hill at the trail head where Brett was adjusting the fuel flow to go up and over with no luck and was informed of a bypass for which he took and arived back at camp about 2 am ending the driving portion of the night run.
and the fire was lit and the bench racing lasted till 3 am. where as a group folks went to their beds with smiles and dreams of trails to come.
on Sunday morning life retuned to the dead give or take {Jim looked a bit rough} at 8:30am and folks started heading home.
all in all everyone I asked said they had a good time and it was a blast from start to finish. |

Thanks to all, for all of your help. We were never concerned because I knew the plan was to return up the trail. I wish we had seen the end though. It was a great time anyways. And then.
After visiting the campfire, we caught a ride back to our camp in Jessie's rig, She jumped out backwards and injured her knee. It kept her up most of the remainder of the night and she still couldn't walk on it in the morning. We bugged out early Sunday morning to take Kellie to the Doctor.
After several Xrays, the docs don't think she tore anything (whew), but she sprained her knee and ankle. She is now on crutches and wearing a knee brace. |
